Permissions Meme

CHARACTER NAME: Proginoskes
CHARACTER SERIES: A Wind in the Door/Time Quintet

[OOC]
This is the permissions list for OOC (out of character), activity.
Answer the following questions with "yes" or "no", as well as additional information if desired.

Backtagging: Yes. I tend to keep a thread going for weeks if the other person is amenable, and I love long-term stuff.
Threadhopping: Please ask first.
Fourthwalling: Not unless it's a completely crack/meta thread.
Offensive subjects (elaborate): The mun has few personal triggers; I usually just let people know if I'm in over my head. Progo doesn't really lend himself to dark, gory situations so I don't anticipate anything coming up on his end.

[IC]
This is the permissions list for IC (in-character), activity.
Answer the following questions with "yes" or "no", as well as additional information if desired. With IC permissions, it's a good idea to elaborate on what other players can expect from your character if they choose to do any of the following:

Hugging this character: If he's somehow in a human form, sure. In trueform this is not recommended without warning, since he's got a lot of eyes that you might poke and some fiery bits. Plus he's a good 10 feet in diameter. I suppose other angels and supernatural types can try it.
Kissing this character: Same as above. Pretty sure he has no lips in trueform, though.
Flirting with this character: If you like. He's likely to be slow to pick up on innuendo. Canon suggests he's a relatively young angel, even the equivalent of a teenager/twenty-something, so not only is he not very experienced with human romance, he's probably equally inexperienced by measure of his own species. Cherubim sexuality isn't really addressed in the book, but for RP purposes I'm running with panromantic, grey-ace.
Fighting with this character: You know, I don't think he's much of a fighter, although he'd try if he had to. I'd sort of prefer OOC discussion first, but if the thread heads that way naturally, sure.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Yes, but please nothing permanent unless with prior OOC discussion and/or plans for getting him patched up.
Killing this character: No.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Absolutely, yes. His primary method of communication is kything, so he's not inclined to defend his mind against being read. To a human, the force of his mental energy may be overwhelming, though, so keep that in mind. He may be difficult to influence or control telepathically.

Warnings: Expect him to want to kythe with you. That's just normal to him. Other than that and the jets of flame, he's pretty harmless.

As an aside on gender: Progo is referred to as male in the book, so his pronouns are he/him etc., however he's also sort of a many-beings-in-one construct, and I would consider him nonbinary. I'll default to he/him, but they/them pronouns are equally accepted and applicable.

Get your own copy of the IC/OOC Permissions meme!

comments

OOC notes

Proginoskes is a character from A Wind in the Door by Madeline L'Engle. He is a cherubim, a singular being with a plural name, as he will be quick to tell you. He doesn't always have a corporeal form, but when he does, it's a tangle of smoke, jets of flame, immense wings, and eyes in every conceivable shape and color, in constant motion.

Progo communicates by kything, a kind of telepathy, for lack of a better term. Kything is different from telepathy in that it conveys not just word and thought, but also emotion, and sometimes some degree of self, from one being to another. If your character is heavily shielded, resistant to mind-to-mind contact, or if you as a mun just don't want to deal with the implications, feel free to let me know OOC if I tag you, and I'll back off. Presumably Progo can also communicate via text, but he will feel it's a poor alternative.

The idea of doing anything unethical, mentally, to another being, would never occur to him, and he opens himself up when he kythes, as much as trying to get into the other person. But he can be overwhelming.

Edit: If requested, to simplify RP, I can put Progo a human form. It's safe to assume he's not used to it and has minimal control over when he's in human shape as opposed to noncorporeal or cherubim-shape. In human shape he can speak, but he'll likely still try to and prefer to kythe.

comments
